I came across an interesting article in the Daily Mail which suggests the idea that the raiders involved in the Hatton Garden Heist may have started preparatory work a week before they were detected.
The article mentions that nearby residents experienced an unexplained power cut and also heard the sound of drilling long before the actual heist took place. There was also an underground fire nearby before the heist.
The newspaper article also suggests that their is growing evidence that the heist was an inside job as the released CCTV footage is of a side door to the building which is down an alley protected by a metal gate and neither this metal gate, nor the side entrance to the building show signs of forced entry thus suggesting the raiders had keys.
