My name is Ian Douglas and I am a Writer and Author. I live in Holborn in the City of London in England.
I enjoy writing tremendously. Not only does it provide a way for me to channel my creative skills but it also allows me to work from home. As I look out of my window in the busy jewellery district of London onto the hectic street below I can watch stressed out business men and women rushing to and fro while I am able to relax and pour myself another coffee in the quietness and peace of my flat.
Being a Writer requires a lot of self-discipline but even as I plan my schedule each day I am free to adjust it to fit around my life so that I control my work rather than my work controlling me. It is a completely different world from being a Wage Slave working in a cubical in the middle of an open plan office the size of a football pitch.
One thing I miss, now I live in a flat, is not having a garden. But gardens, although being a great source of pleasure, can also be high maintainance.
